Talk Solar Orbiter Major Flare Campaigns and EUI/HRI studies Session 3

Description

After more than two years of chasing solar flares with the EUI/HRI, we have established a catalogue of about 50 solar flares with 174A images at a few second time cadence. Single event studies have shown that there is a very close temporal link between the EUV and HXR flux from flare ribbons during the impulsive phase. This correlation holds for all of the 10 M-class flares revealing a linear dependance between the HXR and EUV fluxes. The linear dependance suggest that the ribbon emissions are becoming fainter and fainter for smaller and smaller flares and eventually will not be a significant contributor to the total EUV flare enhancement. For the workshop, we plan to investigate how smaller flares fit within the correlation derived from M-class flares.
