The RPWI team meeting will be held at the UCD University Club. This venue is located roughly 7 km south of the Dublin City center on the University College Dublin (UCD) campus. The campus is easily accessible from the airport and the city centre. The following are the options for traveling to UCD either from Dublin Airport or Dublin City centre.
Aircoach operates bus 700 from Dublin Airport to Leopardstown/Sandyford/Stillorgan which passes UCD. Booking your tickets online at least 24 hours in advance of traveling is cheaper and also guarantees you a seat, but you can also buy the ticket on the bus. The destination stop will be “UCD, Montrose Student Residence” on the aircoach booking website, coming from “Dublin Airport”. For the trip back to the airport, the bus departs from the stop “UCD, Stillorgan Road”.
Dublin Express connects Dublin Airport with Dublin City centre. It is possible to get the Dublin Express to the stop "Eden quay O’Connell Street & Marlborough Street" (Dublin City centre) and then get a second bus (Dublin Bus No. E1, E2 or 39A) to UCD. This option costs roughly the same as getting the Aircoach directly from Dublin Airport.
Dublin Bus also has a number of routes which serve Dublin Airport and Dublin City centre. Bus No. 16 and 41 leave from the airport and arrive at O’Connell street, after which the bus numbers mentioned previously (Dublin Bus No. E1, E2 or 39A) can be taken to UCD. This option is slightly cheaper than the previous two, but will take significantly longer.
Taxis are usually available at both Dublin airport and the city centre, however are a more expensive option. From the Dublin City centre to UCD, taxis will cost roughly €15-25, however this may vary significantly depending on the city centre location and time of day. There are usually an adequate number of taxis in operation in the city centre at any given time. It is possible to hail a taxi from the street, but convenient taxi ranks are located on O'Connell Street, Middle Abbey Street, Dame Street and St. Stephens Green.
